A veteran broadcaster and media consultant, I am a Filmmaker, Writer,, Public Speaker and Trainer, Community Interpreter and Advocate.
Specialty areas are producing: television documentaries and journalistic commentary on community development issues; training producers, presenters and all public facing speakers in press relations, PR and image building
Upon completing a BA Honors degree in Sociology from the University of Reading, U.K. I then went to USA and studied film and television production at the NYU Television Studio School of New York. I moved to Africa where I worked several years as a producer/director, African films critic, news journalist and talk show host on current affairs; eventually appointed to head and manage the station. Later I owned a media consultancy company offering training in broadcast journalism , employability skills for young professionals; workshops in public speaking and etiquette for Members of Parliament; designing program schedules for private broadcasters; and media campaigns for corporations
Since finding myself in the UK since 2016, I now volunteer with grass roots organizations working with refugees to overcome challenges to integration in their newfound communities. In helping to provide a platform to engage and voice their experiences I am asked by the charities to do public speaking about their concerns and produce advocacy films funds permitting. I also train members in public speaking. Currently work in progress includes video stories from African refugee women and I am co producing a documentary with Bristol University on the system and its impact on refugees in Bristol during the pandemic
